Single Touch Payroll (STP) is a change in the way the Australian Government requires employers to report payroll information to the Australian Taxation Office. This move will deliver real-time visibility over the accuracy and timeliness of businesses’ payroll processes in each pay event or pay run.
STP will be mandatory from 1 July 2018 for businesses with 20 or more employees. For most businesses, your payroll software or service provider will provide the means to do this by a software update or an additional service.
Ascender is working with the ATO to ensure we are ready and compliant to meet these requirements. You can start preparing your business by ensuring your software provider is working on this for you and keeping you informed of their progress.
