With this vision of the future, it is important for all Hitachi Vantara locations to run smoothly and keep their employees happy so they can continue to make impactful contributions to their customers. With 350 employees across Singapore and Malaysia, running the payroll can be a daunting task for Jo An Cheah, Hitachi’s Financial Analyst and sole payroll person.

This is where outsourced payroll addressed the challenge with a simplified, yet effective solution. Using the Ascender PeoplePay system with a fully managed payroll model, Jo An finds that running payroll need not be so hard or time-consuming. “The Ascender team manages and runs the payroll according to our calendar, and then they send the reports to me,” Jo An shares. “I don’t have to log in to the system to do all of it.”

The partnership has given them significant time savings by helping reduce the legwork for every payroll run. “The process is more streamlined, so the payroll is easier to run. The team is also very responsive and they always meet the SLAs,” Jo An adds.

Even though there had been a few transition adaptions due to the acquisition of Zapper by Ascender, to the current Ascender PeoplePay solution, the Ascender team has worked to ensure the support of the outsourced payroll teams remain relevant and kept the relationship going through the last decade. “We are currently implementing the same solution to our Philippine’s office,” Angela Yong, Senior Manager for Strategic Sourcing in APAC, says. “And if we will ever set up another location, we will still use Ascender.

“Ascender has the flexibility that we need for our payroll and leave management, and it’s great working with their support team.”
