Instructional Designer


At Ascender Learn we focus on making our learning solutions great. We develop solutions for large organisations with global reach. These can be eLearning based, instructor-led or blended. We focus on delivering quality products that adhere to industry best-practice. Accessibility and translation are big parts of our business. And we are innovating and exploring in mobile learning, gamification, and HTML-based solutions.

We currently have several new projects kicking off, and we are looking for Instructional Designers and Senior Instructional Designers to work with us. These will be initial 3 month contracts with a strong possibility of extension, or even transitioning 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meeting with stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Reviewing existing content
  • Developing a high level training design
  • Writing an eLearning script and/or resources for face-to-face training
  • Managing the resource review and signoff process
  • Liaising with the visual designer and eLearning developer as appropriate
  • Reviewing the final eLearning build
  • Designing learning solutions to meet the business needs of our clients
  • Providing mentoring and guidance to Instructional Designers
  • Reviewing resources developed by Instructional Designers and providing feedback
  • Troubleshooting challenges with the resource development and review process
Skills & Experience:
  • Exceptional written English, especially in Plain English and Global English
  • Storytelling and scenario development
  • Stakeholder management
  • Proofreading
  • Knowledge of Information Mapping
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience in development tools, e.g. Storyline
